BJ Bell

May 12, 1985 ~ July 27, 2019 (age 34)

Obituary

Braden Jaymes “BJ” Bell passed away peacefully on July 27, 2019 with his loving mom and dad by his side in Washington Terrace, UT; following a brief battle with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia Philadelphia like Chromosomal Mutation. He left his world just like he came in with his mom & dad by his side. BJ was born on Mother’s Day, May 12, 1985 to Jerry Wayne and Jean Francom Bell.

His mom always said he was the best mother’s day present ever, as he made her a mom. He was the oldest of 4 children. BJ was born with Down Syndrome, but he never let this stop him from doing anything he wanted. He had an incredible gift , he saw the best in everyone around him. His wonderful smile could light up a room and always made the person receiving it do whatever he wanted them to do and it always made you feel better.

As a young child his family moved around a lot as his dad was in the U.S. Navy. He lived in El CaJon, CA and Keyport, WA; and then his family moved back to Elwood, UT. BJ attended many different schools and was able to walk across the stage at Bear River High School and receive his certificate in 2003. He even got to go to his Jr. Prom thanks to his wonderful teacher Mr. Furhiman. He was going to Cache Employment and Training Center in Logan, Utah at the time of his passing. He loved to ride the bus and go to “school”. He had many great friends and wonderful staff there.

He had many great teachers in his life that stood out and touched his life and all our hearts that helped him become the wonderful young man he was. They are special people who we will never forget, who went the extra mile for him.

BJ had a pure love for Christmas, he would celebrate all year long.  He was an avid Denver Broncos fan, loved the USU Aggies, John Cena and loved all types of music. He loved to watch movies especially Santa Clause 3, and Scooby Doo and Disney Musicals.

He loved to go outside and swing, he could be found out there anytime of day or night. He loved his jump-a-line or you could always find him playing with his slinky or spinning his bowl while he watched movies. He really loved to watch music videos on his dad’s computer. He loved to jet ski with his family – he loved to go to Bear Lake, play in the ocean and swim anywhere he could find water. He loved his sleep overs at his sisters’ houses and at aunt DeAnne’s. He always knew whose turn it was. BJ was proud to participate in bowling, swimming, and bocce in the Special Olympics and he won lots of medals in all three events.

BJ is survived by his parents, Jean and Jerry; his siblings, J’Lynn Allen, Jaycee (Coulter) Furness; his 3 nephews: Jerrik Allen, Beaux Allen, and Coultyn Furness; 1 niece Phinix Allen; Grandparents: Lavar Francom,  Gary W. Bell, Pam Steed; Special Aunt DeAnne Francom, and lots of aunts, uncles, and cousins.  He was preceded in death by his brother KC Bell; niece Jinnevieve Allen; uncles Billy Bell and Beau Bell; grandma Betty Francom; great-grandparents Wayne & Angie Francom, Jane Robertson, Jack Robertson, Edna  & Clyde Steed, Arvil & Elma Bell. Also greeting him in Heaven were special friends Joe Allen, Doug Miller & Matt Ellsworth.

He made us a family – BJ Thank You for sharing your incredible Journey with us and for choosing us to be your family, we will always be eternally grateful – You were our Angel on Earth.
